How to Add Recipient Name To Certificate Design

In order to incorporate a Recipient Name attribute onto your certificate, navigate to the Attributes tab located on the left side of the credential designer page. Select the Recipient Name attribute within this tab. Once added, you have the flexibility to customize its color, position, and size. The Recipient Name details are automatically sourced from the recipients you have uploaded to the Recipients section.

Preventing recipient name overflow

Recipient names vary in length, and longer names may overflow outside the text box.. Sertifier provides two text fitting options to handle this:

Option 1 — Shrink & Fit to Box (recommended)

This option automatically scales the font size down to fit the recipient's full name within the bounds of the text box, regardless of name length.

  1. Select the Recipient Name attribute on the credential canvas.
  2. In the text formatting options, choose Shrink & Fit to Box.
  3. Extend the text box to span as much horizontal space as the design allows — the wider the box, the less shrinkage needed for most names.

Shrink & Fit to Box is the recommended option for most designs because it ensures no name ever overflows, even for recipients with unusually long names.

Option 2 — Wrap

This option allows the text to wrap onto a second line if the name is too long to fit on one line.

  • If you use this option, make sure there is enough vertical space below the text box to accommodate a second line.
  • Test your design with a long sample name to confirm there is no overlap with other design elements.
