What Will Happen To Our Credentials If We Terminate Our Subscription?
Your recipients will retain access to and can view their credentials as usual, unless you have set a specific expiration date for them.
If you cancel your Sertifier subscription or downgrade to the Free plan, the following applies to your account and your recipients' credentials.
Your Recipients' Credentials Remain Valid
All credentials that have been issued before your subscription ends remain fully valid and accessible. Recipients can continue to:
- View their credential verification page
- Share their credential on LinkedIn and other social media
- Provide the credential link to employers or third parties for verification
- Use the credential's unique ID for verification purposes
Credentials are not deleted when you cancel. The only exception is credentials that have a specific expiration date set. Those will display an 'Expired' banner after their expiry date, regardless of your subscription status.
What Changes After Cancellation
- Custom domain: If you had a custom domain set up for your credential verification pages (e.g., credentials.yourcompany.com), the URL will revert to the default Sertifier domain (verified.sertifier.com) after your subscription ends. Recipients clicking old links will be redirected, but you may want to inform them of the URL change.
- Branding: Custom branding on credential pages and emails will be removed or reverted to Sertifier defaults, depending on your plan.
- Sending new credentials: You will no longer be able to issue new credentials beyond the Free plan limits.
LinkedIn Credentials Are Not Affected
Any credentials that recipients have already added to their LinkedIn Licenses & Certifications section will remain there. LinkedIn additions are stored on the recipient's own LinkedIn profile and are not affected by changes to your Sertifier subscription.
